NEW ITEMS: Parser bug reports: BUG232: Bob Ross showed the bug report. There was an error message about illegal character 58. Mike LaBonte said that was a colon character. There was a second problem related to geFileVersion. Bob said he would classify the bug as Moderate severity and Medium priority. Mike asked if the ibischk program had the problem. Bob said no. Mike asked if that was why the bug was declared to be "EDA tool-specific". Lance said the code was embedded in the Cadence tool, and ibischk did not have the problem. Bob said he may need to review the correspondence and the IBIS specification before Open Forum review. BUG233: Bob Ross showed the bug report. He said Arpad Muranyi had sent the bug, which had been found by John Angulo. A [Model] lacked Vref, and ibischk crashed if [Model Spec] Vref_rising and Vref_falling were present. Bob said adding Vref made it pass. Mike said the fix might introduce a new check message, if Vref is not currently checked. Bob said no messages were printed before the crash. He said it actually froze without returning to the command prompt, requiring a control-C. Bob changed "crash" to "freeze". Mike noted the report included the diagnostic that there was a NULL pointer deference, adding that those usually resulted in a SEGV crash. Bob said he would hold BUG233 until after BUG232 was filed, to keep them in sequence. Parser development: Bob Ross said we had a number of open bugs, three of which would warrant a new IBISCHK711 development. Randy Wolff said BUG227 would wait until IBISCHK720, noting the bug report had not yet been classified. Bob said it was waiting for clarification BIRD219.
